Release notes
What changed in Night Atlas. The newest notes are first. Version 1.1.0 is the download on the home page. Notes under Unreleased came after that release.
1.1.0 (2026-10-13)
- Settings are grouped and easier to read.
- A deep-sky object's facts card, and Search and By height, say when it is next high enough in a dark sky to photograph from home.
- ISS and Tiangong pass times now stay up to date automatically.
- The note on a built-in picture opens the Photographs pack download.
- A Stellina import shows its progress across every session and file.
- Deep-sky pictures, names, and constellation lines stay behind the landscape.
- Messier pictures on the sky are openly licensed photographs.
- What's new is in Help, and the first launch of a version shows a short note you can close.
1.0.0 (2026-10-13)
- First public release of Night Atlas for Windows.
- Unzip NightAtlas.zip and open NightAtlas.exe. There is no installer and no account.
- The sky opens for a town you save. Drag to look around, and use the wheel to zoom in.
- Star Camp asks you to find the figures that are up, and the cards can print.
- Stellina photographs in the inbox can attach to the objects they show.
- The free app does not point a telescope. Pointing a GoTo mount is planned for Night Atlas Extra.
